My mom went running this afternoon and she found a fuzzy caterpillar. We named him Spike. He is black and we think he has red polka dots where the little fur things come out. Here is a picture of Spike:
Right now we are keeping him in a little plastic container. We gave him dandelion leaves and other kinds of leaves to eat. We even gave him two rose petals.
We looked online and found out he might turn into a moth. We think he might be called a pyrrharctia isabella caterpillar.
We will keep him for a while and see if he turns into a moth.
Update on Spike:
Spike the caterpillar died
